On a random Friday morning, I attended a church bazaar nearby in the SW Suburbs wanting to only "look" for something to add to my home here, since everything I owned was still back east. As I walked in, there it stood against a wall; a most enormous and beautiful piece of art. A woman drawn in charcoal. She was beautifully framed and signed by Ms. Judith Roth. The attraction was immediate and I almost stumbled over a table to get to it before anyone else did. ( I won't disclose the price I paid.)
It was framed at Judith Roth Studios and there was a telephone number on the back. I called and left a message, and Judith called me back when she returned to town. I told her that I was wondering of the value of this work of art that hung on a large wall in my dining room. I was quite surprised to hear what Judith had to say of this now rather valuable painting I owned.
It's an amazingly simple piece of work. A pensive lady with pretty long hair and an angelic face, head leaning on one hand with downturned (closed) eyes.
I am still thrilled to have this in my rather extensive collection of art as I have gone to light it overhead for more emphasis.Antonias Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01376381433137529754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5228675619538286159.post-73715059185636803722009-03-01T17:59:00.000-06:002009-03-01T17:59:00.000-06:00Judith Roth renders the intriguing Earth-wise mood...Judith Roth renders the intriguing Earth-wise mood of her subject by portraying a partial or entire figure with highly perceptive expertise.
Her captivating style enlivens a viewer's curiosity and encourages participation. I greatly admire her powerful use of radiant colors made indelible by combining them with electrifying linear graphics.
Biz Oregon Elly Varga (Cummens)Elly Vargahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829440960080088265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5228675619538286159.post-37783393042138577242009-03-01T16:44:00.000-06:002009-03-01T16:44:00.000-06:00Great piece Amy!Great piece Amy!Gabriella Boroshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00482033971623981734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5228675619538286159.post-52383738513234391132009-03-01T16:21:00.000-06:002009-03-01T16:21:00.000-06:00I love Judith's figure drawings and am blown away ...I love Judith's figure drawings and am blown away by them.
